The only way to reach Capri is by sea, as the island has no airport of its own. However, there are numerous ferries and hydrofoils departing for the island from major Campania cities including Naples, Sorrento, Salerno, Amalfi and Positano, as well as from the other islands in the Campania archipelago of Ischia and Procida. During the winter months, services to the island are reduced and most departures take place from Naples port.

Those arriving in Naples by air or train can use the dedicated bus service to reach the departure ports at Molo Beverello (where hydrofoils depart) or Calata Porta di Massa (where fast ships and ferries depart). Alternatively, for those who prefer convenience, you can reach the departure port by taxi.

If you arrive in Naples or elsewhere in Campania by car or motorcycle, be aware that during peak season you cannot bring any motor vehicles to the island (with the exception of residents only). Capri is small in size and its special atmosphere makes it an ideal destination to explore on foot.
