Thanks to its excellent location, Naples enjoys a Mediterranean climate that makes it an ideal destination year-round. However, the shoulder seasons – spring and autumn – prove to be the best times to visit the city, thanks to mild weather, sunny days and pleasant temperatures.
In winter, temperatures are fairly mild with the occasional cold snap, though rainfall can be heavier. Visiting Naples in summer can be a wonderful idea, as the city enjoys long daylight hours and sunny weather, but be aware that if you’re sensitive to heat, temperatures can be quite high and reach 36–38°C. In summer, too, the city can become very crowded with visitors, so it’s better to choose the shoulder seasons not only for the climate, but also for the lighter tourist flow.
