Located approximately 20 km south-east of the provincial capital, the Salerno Airport – Amalfi Coast and Cilento (IATA Code: QSR) opened to passenger traffic on 11 July 2024 with the arrival of a Volotea flight from Nantes.
The full name “Amalfi Coast and Cilento” was officially recognised by ENAC in July 2025, underlining the airport’s tourist appeal to both coastlines. Italy’s 39th airport in order of opening.
It aims to become an increasingly important hub for the Region, particularly for incoming tourism, with the goal of alleviating traffic at Campania’s main airport, Naples-Capodichino Airport. During the summer season 2025, it offered 18 scheduled destinations, of which 13 are international flights to European capitals such as London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Brussels and Bucharest. For summer 2026, Aeroitalia has strengthened its presence with new domestic routes (Milan Malpensa, Turin, Genoa, Trieste) and international services to Mediterranean destinations (Palma de Mallorca, Mykonos, Ibiza, Santorini), whilst Ryanair maintains its connections.
The airport is managed by Società Gestione Servizi Aeroporti Campani S.p.A. (GESAC), the same company that manages Naples Airport.
